Winter storm + cabin kit

Winter outages in the mountains
are longer, colder, and more dangerous.

Snowstorms knock out power in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana for hours or days at a time, often during sub-zero windows when stepping outside isn't an option. Ladegrid is a complete 72-hour kit built for mountain reality.

What you're solving for

The specific risks Ladegrid is built to handle.

01

Sub-zero outages

An outage at -10°F is a household crisis within hours. You need lights, phones, communication, and a way to stay warm without going outside to a generator.

02

Cabin and second-home risk

Pipes freeze, water lines break, and a property without backup becomes an expensive repair. A backup battery for your monitoring devices keeps a cabin habitable.

03

Avalanche and road closures

Restoration crews can't reach you if the highway is closed. A 72-hour buffer is realistic planning for mountain towns and unincorporated areas.

04

No indoor generator option

Fuel generators belong outside. In a snowstorm at altitude, that's not a real plan. LFP runs indoors in the cabin or living room.

Why Ladegrid

A complete kit, not a power-station spec war.

Mountain-West outages are concentrated in winter and shoulder seasons. A snowstorm at altitude knocks out power, blocks the road, and leaves households without help for longer than coastal residents are used to. The risk is not inconvenience - it's hypothermia, frozen pipes, and a cabin you can't leave or reach.

Ladegrid Family 72 ships in one durable case with the LFP battery, lights, radio, water filter, first aid, cable kit, and a printed outage plan. Designed to live in a closet, a basement, or a cabin pantry.

LFP chemistry is the only kind of household backup that can run safely indoors at altitude during a winter storm. No fumes, no carbon monoxide, no risk in a tightly sealed mountain home.

FAQ

About Winter storm + cabin kit.

Can I use it in a cabin or second home?

Yes. Many customers store a Ladegrid kit at a mountain cabin or vacation home for exactly this reason. LFP batteries are stable across a wide temperature range and ship UN38.3-certified.

Will it run a small space heater?

Most space heaters draw 700–1500W, which exceeds short-cycle use even on a 2 kWh battery. We do not recommend Family 72 as a primary heat source. Use it for phones, lights, communications, and electric blankets or other low-draw heat solutions.

Is the battery safe in freezing temperatures?

LFP batteries operate safely in cold temperatures but charge most efficiently above freezing. Store the kit indoors where possible and follow the printed runtime guide for cold-weather operation.
